New Zealand offers work visas in two streams, both with specifically defined academic and professional criterion. The professions that fall under this category are a part of the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO), a list that details the various fields that are open for individuals aspiring to emigrate to New Zealand.
Under this category, two streams of immigration processes are offered to the aspirants; skilled and professional. For the former, the individual earning around NZD 27 per hour are offered a range of professions to choose from based on their skills and minimal education threshold. For the latter, professional education, or relevant work experience in the field that the individual is applying in, is assessed. The minimum earning threshold for this stream is 40 NZD per hour. Candidates in both fields submit their portfolio of documents in the form of an expression of interest (EOI) and after assessment on a points-based system, are invited to apply for residency visa, leading to citizenship in due course of time.
Both, skilled workers and professionals of the fields identified in the ANZSCO can apply and seek a new personal and professional beginning in New Zealand.
